Comments: Larry,
I just watched the Levon Helm documentary, and was reminded how nice a guy you are...I met you back around 1980 or so, when my band Whitewater used to play regularly at the Lone Star Cafe. We did a few demo sessions as I recall, and you were nice enough to come & play pedal steel for us (since I had just gotten mine, and couldn't play it for shit!)...I haven't forgotten those days, and still think fondly of how gracious you were to a bunch of country boys from Maryland. Dear Larry,
Congratulations on your newest award..."Instrumentalist of the Year".
My husband and I both think you are great! We attend as many of your performances as we can and can honestly say that you truly deserved this award.
Not only are you a stupendous magician, you are a human being who is always so gracious and friendly to all who greet you and talk to you before or after your performances.
Looking forward to seeing you again next weekend, Friday night and then Saturday at the Ramble.
Keep up your awesome musical talent that we are all fortunate to hear.
Have a beautiful one! :)Merele & Alan

Comments: Larry, Don't know why it took so long to tell this story, but, hey. I saw on Levon's website a good while back that your mother had passed. I was in the Barn for the first Acoustic Ramble back in January, '09. I happened to be in the seat next to her, sitting to her right. The music got me pretty fired up, and I noticed her smiling at me. She identified herself, and said what a good feeling it gave her to see people enjoying your performance. I laid several superlatives on her, telling her what the whole experience meant to me. The pride she had in her son was radiating from her. She had the brightest smile. I'll not forget it. I got backstage (legally) at the Wildwood show in Little Rock later that year, and tried to get to you to relate my experience, but that didn't happen. I watched the Love for Levon show the other day and thought about it, so I figured I oughtta go ahead and share it. Hope ya'll get back to Texas soon. I'll be lookin' for you. Carey Georgas

Comments: I really don't know if Larry is the one checking these (If so, hello. He'll, hello to whoever...), nor do I feel this will be of much use, but I got a friend... trying to put together a track and was wondering if you knew anyone round here in LA that works for cheap or for free that might be willing to produce or just master an already existing track? Gonna shoot a video for it once done that'll be real nice-proper.
A side note, I just got out of Ain't In It For My Health, and I gotta say it was a pretty damn fine film, and it was mighty fine to see you all doing what you do, how you do it. Thanks for being a part of that, everything else too. Best of luck in your travels, man.

Comments: Larry, I was looking at the great videos on YouTube from the Jamaica trip with Hot Tuna & Little Feat. (Great Shows!!!!) I was in Jamaica with 3 of my best friends from New York City and we spoke for a few minutes I said you were one of the best Violinist in the World with Charlie Daniels and Papa and Theresa has one of the best voices since Donna Jean Godchaux from the Grateful Dead. Donna is clearly a shiny Diamond (Sugaree) Maybe you and Donna should reach out to Phil or Bob because you and Donna would be an amazing addition to Phil Lesh & Friends or The Dead, if they do another tour. It’s a perfect fit. We hope to see you next year. All The Best Good Luck CC

Comments: Hey Larry, love the banjo work on High Water with Bob Dylan. What are the chances that a banjo tab exists for this? I am a budding banjo player and would like to learn your licks on HW. Thanks, John
