WOOD AND STONE (Tara Nevins)
2011

Larry produced Tara Nevins's, Wood and Stone at Levon Helm's Woodstock studio, her first solo album since 1999. The album was released on May 3rd. Tara Nevins is a member of the band, Donna The Buffalo. Larry found Nevins's project immediately compelling. "I liked the feel of the project and her combination of old-time mountain music and original songwriting, and I was taken with Tara's unique talent; she's got a distinctive voice, and there's a kind of honesty that shines through." Ten of the thirteen tracks are originals. Larry played acoustic guitar, electric guitar, pedal steel guitar, cittern, harmonium, mandolin and provided harmony vocals on "Down South Blues". Larry also played fiddle on "All I Ever Needed" and "Beauty of Days Gone By", and banjo on "Wood And Stone". Levon Helm played drums on a couple of the songs, and Teresa Williams provided harmony vocals on several of the songs. Other guests on the album include Jim Lauderdale and Allison Moorer.
