Hi Larry,

Just like to thank you for all of your music. From your producing to your own solo work. You have been a big source of inspiration for me. Thanks so much for all of it. I thought you might be interested in a project of mine. I am currently trying to get it recorded but its proving quite hard with the size of it, particularly for one person to undertake and the amount of people it requires and costs! Its kind of my own version of Harry Smiths Anthology. I have tried a few times and got some demos down but deleted them as they were not up to scratch. Also im from Dublin,Ireland so its kind of hard to get the right players and voices considering it is essentially an American project true and true(even though we have a very big american roots scene here). I think I will have to move to the States and do it in the deep south! Incidentially the name comes from the first time i heard Big Pink. I thought to myself.. "this is Strawberry Mountain Music" :)
I created the characters and wrote all of the songs barr the 5 traditionals.

"Strawberry Mountain Music of Old America" an imaginary place i created and each piece is by a character from Tupelo,at the foot of mountain. It covers blues, appalachian, dixieland jazz, black gospel, white gospel,black/white folk, instrumentals, sacred harp singing, prayers and more.close to 30 pieces,5 traditionals, set between 1910 to 1930.
There will be artwork and stories with it. A short story on each character and the town and mountain.

Thanks again for all of the music. I thought I would share my own stuff and show my gratitude as you have fed me musically me for a long time! Hope to see you in Woodstock sometime when I eventually make the pilgrimage.

All the best,
Sam

Saw the Dirty Guvnas'last week in NYC. Got the chance to speak with James and Arron (we nicknamed him Little Levon and he loves the comparison)after the show. The topics of course were Levon, Larry and the Barn. I mentioned to James that I had seen them for the first time when they opened for Joe Louis Walker at the Barn, and have been making it a point to see them every year since whenever they play NYC. James reminiced about being up there and how truly magical it was and is. He was also thrilled when he received a text from you when you were in Tennessee a while back. He stated that "Larry is pure". I knew exactly what he meant and agreed holeheartedly.
Seeing two of my favorite bands live, within a week is amazing and will stay with me forever. Thanks.

Larry, I am still sick regarding the fact that I could not attend the Sellersville show last month featuring the properly named Masters of the Telecaster. I had booked a left coast vacation for the same week so I gave my ticks to a few friends who said the show was indescribably great. Having Byron on the bass along with Jim and G.E. just adds to the second to none lineup of artists that you continue to surround yourself with. Please make it a point to perform with them again if at all possible. Please again play the Sellersville venue as well, not only for the close location to my home but that the venue is great. See you and Teresa at the City Winery after New Year.

Superb show in Sellersville Sunday eve. It was a real treat to see and hear Byron and Justin also. Finally got to see you on the steel and it sounded so sweet. Richard and Lucy are so easy on the ears and I have now become a large fan of theirs. Looking forward to their album. Teresa is fixin to be the best sounding vocalist in these heer parts.
Thanks.

My husband have been huge fans since we first encountered Larry at a Midnight Ramble. We try to see as many concerts as possible and just saw you with David Bromberg at the Woodstock Playhouse last night. What a wonderful gift you gave all who attended. Thank you for such a generous concert, and for all the fantastic tunes. Hope to see you again soon. Regards home.

Great show with David Bromberg last night at the Infinity Hall in Hartford, CT. You did a terrific song with lyrics something like: "...if I could spend one more night with you...". What is the song? - and is it available on disc?

Ellen and I saw you with David Bromberg last night in Hartford. I must admit that I have been away from the live music scene for all too long. Thank you and David for making my 60th birthday special!

Larry,
Greetings neighbor, from Kingston. I'm just in the process of trying to get tickets for the Club Helsinki show. Backing up a bit, my wife and I came up to the Rambles to see Eric Anderson and just gotta say it was ...wonderful. After the show was over, I said to Lynn " what just hit us?" as we were coming back on 375 and I noticed the moon was up. It was after 12 a.m. and it was Easter. Farther along, we came for the Hoot at Ashokan and got some pics near the end. great show and we got some pics of Pete as well. One thing,
Wondering if you ever heard of a guy in the Boston/Cambridge area named Dennis Brennan. I was thinking he would be great as a guest at the Rambles. Has an album called "Engagement" 2 standout tunes " I've Got My Own" and "Sugar Falls." I think you and his lead guitarist Duke Levine could make for a righteous sonic windstorm. Just saying.
o.k. enough. Back to Helsinki best, Bruce Bundock
